Super Scientists!

At The Meadows, we love finding out about the world around us, and developing science knowledge and skills is an important part of our curriculum. We have just achieved the Primary Science Quality Mark Gilt after receiving our Primary Science Quality Mark Silver award previously. Each term, our science learning is often linked to our overall themes, and we hope you enjoy looking at some of our most recent activities. We feature some of the highlights of each term here!

Investigating and Enquiring

We enjoy using enquiry skills to find answers to questions about the world around us. We have to observe closely and then we often talk together about our discoveries. Here you can see some pictures of our science learning about living things, light, forces and the human body.

Science in the wider world

Children have opportunities to learn about ways in which science knowledge and skills are used in the wider world. The University of Lincoln Futures Festival was one such opportunity, and a group of children met robots and learned about space. It was a fantastic experience! Year 5 children held a Jobs Fair, where they found out more about professions linked to science.

Science in the Early Years

Science is everywhere! We love to explore our natural world and we enjoy practical investigations. Our photos show just some of the ways in which we bring science learning to life at The Meadows.
