Music at The Meadows
We study music at The Meadows so that we can explore our own creativity and appreciate the work of others; we also develop our memories and work in teams.
We work in partnership with music specialists to provide an exciting music curriculum at The Meadows. Children have opportunities to learn drumming, ukulele and woodwind and brass instruments during their journey through the key stages. We provide children with real-life experiences wherever possible and during the current school year, some of our pupils have been involved in the BBC's Ten Pieces concert at a regional theatre. We participate in the Young Voices choirs each year, and our own choir has performed within the local community. The National Curriculum is the basis for all our music teaching and learning.

We were proud to present our concert this term. In Year 4, we have been learning the art of drumming, and we presented some songs and rhythms. In Year 5, we shared some pieces we have learned on the ukulele and in Year 5, we played several brass and woodwind pieces. For our final piece of music, everyone played together!
